1) How long have you been in retail?  

Over 10 years in Russia.

 

2) What changes have you experienced in this time?  

Russia has been going from street market to 3rd generation shopping centers, at a fast pace, much quicker than any other countries.

 

3) What is the most exciting thing about working in retail at the moment?  

Russian retail has been going on a roller-coaster over the past 3 years. Now, the country is going out from the crisis like if it has never happened...

 

4) How do you think consumer demands/expectations are changing?  

Russian consumers are fast learners, and an increasing number is now expecting shopping to be a brand new experience including sparkling brands, customised service, and decent price! This is a permanent challenge for retailers and developers.

 

5) What’s the most important issue facing retail over the next 10 years? 

Market players in Russia have the tendency to think that the country is still lagging as far as e-commerce is concerned. But watch out! What is happening here, as always, is big...
